With the encouragement, feedback, and generous donations of funds or supplies from friends like you, our island has witnessed the many ways residents can unite in order to create a more involved, informed, and interested community. Over the past six months, you have enabled the following projects to raise consciousness within our community:

• An educational tour of Apra Harbor with Marine Biologists and Cultural Scholars.
• We are Racers information drive at the Guam Racetrack
• The collection of over 11,000 petition signatures voicing the community’s desire to have President Obama address our island’s concerns more directly.
• The distribution of four installments of The Grey Papers Project.
• Information-sharing sessions with the Guam Fisherman’s Cooperative.
• Informational materials for student groups.
• The distribution and creation of easy-to-understand educational handouts regarding the DEIS and its content for local residents.
• Leadership and Cultural Awareness workshops for interested students and residents.
• Informational presentations on neighboring islands, as well as sending representatives to both local and national conferences in order to share and learn about our region.

We Are Guåhan remains dedicated to improving itself and facilitating new opportunities for interested residents from all ethnic and professional backgrounds. This summer, we set new goals and initiate new efforts in response to your valuable feedback. To keep our community aware of and active within discussions regarding upcoming elections, the release of the Final EIS, and Record of Decision, your help is needed.
